Last night's game featured Brandon Webb going 7 1/3 innings to pick up his
9th win of the season, but something that caught my eye was the roster of
pitchers used in the game.
Webb came out of the game with one out in the 8th inning, and was replaced
by Doug Slaten and Chad Qualls. Brandon Medders opened the 9th, but gave
up a couple of hits and was replaced by Brandon Lyon before he could get
anyone out (or give up any more runs).
Is this the first time all three Brandons have pitched in the same game
this year?
I wonder how many times in baseball history three pitchers with the same
first name have pitched for the same team in the same game.
I wonder what the record is for most players with the same first name
playing in the same game (for one team or both teams combined).
