I wouldn't call this a normal week, with the Monday game in one city,
Tuesday's in another, today's a 3:00 start, a day off Thursday, and home
for 3 interleague games, but it certainly isn't the worst week this team
has gone through.
Sorry for not getting this in last night. I think I suggested I had
pre-surgery comparative memory testing coming up. Well yesterday was
the day and the nearly 5 hours of testing or tasks and some discussions
with a Psychiatrist left me mentally exhausted I ended up watching the
end of this game relatively relaxed in bed.
So bare bones today other than to ask Brad Mills, whose return to
substitute managing featured losing 2 outfielders to injury/illness,
having the team's ace give up more hits than any Sox starter so far this
year, having his DH tossed from the game and his clean up hitter hitting
into a bases loaded no outs 1-2-3 late inning double play, how much he
wants his boss back sooner than later.
I can't not mention that the snapping noise you hear is the sound ice
makes when forming. It's coming from a place that never freezes over as
the Devilless Rays, on May 14th. are in first place in the A.L. East.
Please note the " Terry less record" added at the end is not meant as
anything more that an attempt at some sort of humor. Kind of like the
red jersey records of years past.

I know Manny had 2 hits, an RBI and a run scored before the bases loaded
no outs 1-2-3 double play and that he put on a great 10 or more pitch at
bat, but that double play was so damaging that late in the game that I
feel I really need to give him the " - " for it. And it's not an
ANGER mark (I pride myself in not actually marking in anger often, not
to say it never happens.), and I certainly was joking the other day
about creating an ANGER GOAT grade, but the game was lost with that AB
for all intents and purposes. It can't be ignored. THIS after all
ISN'T brain surgery.
