The road trip, as a whole, stunk. Let me count the ways...
(1) A 4-6 record. Yuck.
(2) Lost 4 in a row and 5 of the last 6.
(3) Papelbon blew two saves in a row.
(4) Okajima gives up a grand slam to lose the last game.
(5) Drew hurts his wrist.
(6) Buchholz goes on the 15-day DL.
(7) Francona's mother-in-law dies.
(8) In two games, they score 3 runs in the top of the first only to
lose the game each time.
(9) Four days ago, the Sox were in first place by 2.5 games over
Tampa, 4 over Baltimore, and 4.5 over NY. Now, TB is 1 game up
(pending tonight's finals) over Boston, and the Sox are just 1.5 up on
Baltimore and 3.5 up on NY.
Pretty much that was awful. Time to come to Fenway and regroup, boys.
