You could go to the Big A and pretty much sit wherever you wanted...
Kids could actually get autographs before the game because the crowd was
pretty sparse...
You could count the number of AL West titles on one hand... or no
hands...
Postseason play was an aspiration, not an expectation...
Winning the division was in and of itself a fulfilling season...
$10 got you a seat behind the plate, not in the outfield...
You could go weeks, if not months, without seeing someone on the street in
an Angel hat...
Don't get me wrong, I love the crowds and am willing to bite the ticket
bullet if it means watching a winning team. It's just that every once in
a
while I am astounded at how being an Angel fan now is so much different
than
being an Angel fan then. Today was one of those days. What great days
these are.
