Kenny Williams, the most attacked GM in Chicago (albeit one with a
Champion****p ring), traded a highly rated prospect for Quentin, and
was roundly attacked again. Tonight Quentin hit a grand slam to give
the Sox the lead, after having AJ intentionally walked in front of
Quentin.
So far here's what Carlos Quentin has done:
10 HR #1 in the AL
33 RBI tied for 2nd in the AL
27 Runs tied for 2nd in the AL
..399 OBP 6th place in the AL *
..566 SLG 2nd in the AL *
..965 OPS 2nd in the AL *
On top of these fantastic offensive numbers Quentin has played very
well in LF and shown a great arm. I'll never forget seeing Carlos
double up Renteria when Carlos caught a fly nearly on the LF warning
track and made throw to first (no bounce) to double up Renteria.
Great pick-up by KW and great job Carlos Quentin!
* not including Wednesday's game.
