Riiiight....
The 2001 Rockies had the best offense in the league, scoring a massive
5.7 runs a game. The next best offense, the Astros, scored just
5.28. But it was the Astros who had the best record in the NL, with
93 wins. The Rockies finished dead last in their division, posting
just 73 wins.
Since the Rockies clearly had the best scoring team in the league, how
did they lose 20 games more than the Astros? You answer my question
and I'll answer yours.
Response...............
Zero pitching. I didn't say you could win with zero pitching. But if you
take Volquez off this staff, it stings, but the cupboard is not bare.
I've never been convinced that Volquez couldn't have been acquired another
way. They were NOT high on him in Texas. I will say that after listening
to more of these Ranger broadcasts, they definitely scouted Hamilton, did
their homework on him, and went after him.
All we have witnessed this whole season, is the Reds scrambling to find an
outfielder. If they had opened the season with Votto, Hamilton and Bruce,
I
suspect people would be coming to watch these kids play.
