A humidor, keeps them from drying out due to the thin and dry air here.  A

dried out baseball tends to travel further.  Some folks say the humidor is

one reason the Rocks have been able to finally put together a team that
can 
compete both offensively and defensively.  The days of the Blake Street 
Bombers are gone.
