The first day of baseball's free-agent signing period was a busy one
for Astros general manager Ed Wade and assistant general manager David
Gottfried, who began making contract offers Tuesday.
Wade said there is plenty of interest in the Astros' offers and expects
to make more offers in the next few days.
"It could be a prolonged process with some and an elongated process
with others," Wade said.
