Yes, I'm from Chicago and celebrating for the Cubs, and I know this
will seem hollow and that you don't want to hear it, but I just wanted
to say congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers for a great pennant
race.
We all said it was going to go down to the last weekend, and it did.
Both our teams have been streaky all year. . .obviously we nearly
coughed it up in Florida. . and unfortunately for the Brewers, they
hit a bad spot in the last few days. More than likely, if the season
went one more week, it would have been the other way around.
It was a great pennant race, you guys really never gave up. . .it's a
great rivalry and the Brewers days are coming, and coming fast.
You've got the MVP, you've got a great group of young, hungry guys.
I have no allusions about the Cubs in the playoffs. . .we're all happy
now, sure, but personally, I think Philly is going to bulldoze right
through the postseason.
Anyway, you guys had a great season, you've got a classy group of
players and you will be a legitamate contender (and winner) for years
to come.
So, my hat off to you and we'll look forward to another great race in
'08. . .
