Would this team be better?

There were rumors that the Mets had plan B in mind:

1) Trade Reyes and two B-level prospects for Johan
2) Sign A-Rod for $28 million per
3) Keep Carlos Gomez as the speedster and play him at LF and hitting
leadoff (and consequently not resign Alou)

It was eventually scratched when the Mets accountants realized no
matter how well the Mets do, they will never make a significant profit
with ARod's salary and Johan's salary.
