In an article about Cashman and the Yankees in-fighting, all the way
at the bottom of page 2 the following ends the article.

way. The Mets are a game over .500, yet it seems like they're dead and
buried the way the fans are reacting."

I happen to agree, I don't like the way the Mets are playing, but
there are an awful lot of Mets fans who seem to think the team is
already out of it. Or that this weekend's series with the Yankees
actually means the season. As of today it's 2.5 games....could be
more, could be less, could be the same by Monday. Even if the Mets
are sw*pt (don't want to jinx them), Willie won't be fired. I can
understand the aggravation from Mets fans, I am as well. But the way
some are talking, not just here. Do we need to watch the bridges?
