Poor Marco... I think he spaced out and forgot that in that stupid
dome he's now on the home team, not the visitors. If you imagine what
happened there as if it were the Jays batting in the bottom of the
9th, instead of the A's batting in the top of the 9th, then what he
did makes sense. Game tied, winning run at 3rd, the chop off Emil
Brown's bat takes too high a bounce to realistically turn two, so your
only chance is the desperation spin and throw home... Well, yet
another magical moment for the, "And you thought you'd seen everything
in this game..." file.
And what the heck was up with pre-empting the bottom of the 9th for
hockey? Boo hiss on CSNBA. And oh yeah, nice call on the Frank
Thomas fly ball there in the 8th inning Kuiper ;/
Canada. It's just spooky, that's all.
