How many times have I said this? Lenny DiNardo is NOT a major-league
pitcher. He sucks.
Every time the A's trot him out to pitch, they are flirting with
disaster. He gave up nine baserunners in 2+ inningd last night,
raising his ERA to something over 10.00 -- he sucks, and it's a lucky
fact he's even got one win already this season.
Any time DiNardo pitches, the A's should lose. That really says
something about this team. And it ain't good.
Furthermore, as stated many times on this newsgroup, the only reason
the A's won the AL West in 2006 was because of their odd domination of
the Mariners. Going 17-2 against Seattle meant the A's finished with
93 wins -- when they really could have been a 85-win team at best that
year.
Since that effect has been reversed, the A's have been under .500 in
the time since. They have now lost six straight to the Mariners. This
makes it all the more disappointing the A's just haven't done much to
improve when it so clear they were on glass stilts.
Also, losing to Carlos Silva? Is just as bad as losing to Cliff Lee.
In just 974 career IP, Silva has given up 1149 hits. Yet some how, the
A's only managed four hits off him in seven innings last night.
Opponents have hit .298 off Silva in his career, but the A's? Got shut
down by him.
Figures.
A's Record: 9-8
A's Should-Be Record: 10-7
