Game 28: Implosion?

by Tonawanda Kardex <tonawandakardex@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 30, 2008 at 07:55 AM

Joe Saunders isn't a good pitcher. I don't mind it when the A's get
shut down by a good pitcher, but they surely wished for some of those
extra runs on Monday night to carry over to Tuesday.

What a waste. Greg Smith throws a three-hitter and loses the game.

Inconsistency, thy name is Oakland.

Well, you're not going to win many games with just four hits.
Saunders? Has a career 4.21 ERA, with more hits allowed than innings
pitched and a K:BB that is less than 2:1 -- the A's really shouldn't
be handcuffed by a guy who throws like that.

But hey, you have two old-school theories here that math can't
explain: 1) The old axiom about saving runs in a blowout game, because
you need them tomorrow; 2) Blind squirrels.

But if it happens again? Then it's a problem.

Side note: I think it's a bad idea to take ABs away from Daric Barton
right now.

A's Record: 17-11
A's Should-Be Record: 18-10
