Oh good gosh, Derek Jeter is exactly the type of the player the
Pirates should be avoiding at all cost: Arguably the worst defensive
shortstop in the major and a good but far from great hitter who is
paid about 150 times his actual value.
Melky Cabrera doesn't even represent an upgrade over Bay at this point
in their careers.
I have no issue with trading Bay for the right players but these two
are definitely not the right players. If the Yankees want to believe
their own hype about Jeter and pay the price for it more power to
them, but the Pirates need not be sucked it.
