Was disappointed to see Burnett waived, then happy to see him coming back.
Thought he had a pretty good spring last year that merited him sticking
around. Sure looks like it now that you look back on things. Middle relief
was bad, and even the starters weren't too much better. Thank God for
Capps!
Anyway, Burnett looked quite promising initially (7-1?), a guy much like
Duke. Don't know how healthy his arm is now, but he sure seems like worth
giving him another shot. Guy's got a ton of heart and that's always worth
something IMHO.
So the Pirates are still the Pirates. No real changes, except perhaps the
bench. Actually, this is a novel approach compared to the last 15 years
where they were either plain horrible and made a ton of changes, or in the
proverbial and much over-rated position of a "key player or two short", or
somewhere even worse, in-between.
Think the Pirates will win the preseason opening against Manatee C.C.!?
