Agreed... the owners and Commissioner bear much responsibility in this
major mess.
But that does not let the offending players off the hook or make them
blameless.
They cheated, pure and simple. They denied success and rewards
to the honorable men who relied on their own natural ability. Those
are the people often forgotten: the guys who never got past Triple A
because they have principles and integrity.
A very small group of those who did steroids (Caminiti for example)
admitted to it and called themselves out as fools. Almost all the
rest lied or obfuscated. They do not deserve our sympathy.
