The Friars inked left-handed pitched Wil Ledezma on Friday. More
details are itemized below.
His numbers in Detroit and Atlanta are unimpressive, but perhaps
Darren Balsley and Bud Black think they can improve him. They
have done that before.

"Wil Ledezma agreed Friday on a $620,000, 1-year contract with the
San Diego Padres to avoid arbitration.
The left-hander was obtained from Atlanta at the trade deadline last
season. Overall, he combined to go 3-3 with a 5.61 ERA in 44 games,
including one start. That came with the Padres, when he allowed 3
earned runs in 2 1-3 innings on Aug. 10 at Cincinnati.
Ledezma, who also pitched for Detroit, has a career record of 15-20
with a 5.28 ERA in parts of five seasons. He can earn an additional
$30,000 in performance bonuses based on games started."
