July 28 at Houston he struck out 10, and allowed 0 earned runs
in 7 innings, winning 3-1. But on August 18th at San Diego, he
went only 4.2 IP, allowing 2 earned runs. San Diego won 3-2.
THE PEAVY RE****T
Jake Peavy was 9-5 at home last year with a 2.52 ERA. But on
the road Jake logged a 10-1 record with a 2.15 ERA.
In 2 tries against Houston last season, Peavy had 1 win and 1 no
decision. In 14 combined innings he allowed only 2 earned runs
and 8 hits, while striking out 19 batters ! Pretty impressive.
That's my number crunch for today. I like our chances of a win
