Chase Headley (OF):
This is a no-brainer. Unless he suddenly has a horrible April,
we'll see him in left field sometime in May.
He batted .330 last year in AA, with 20 homers and a .437 OBP. This
kid has future star written all over him.
The question is: who will make room for him? McAnulty or Gerut?
Matt Antonelli (2B):
Our first round pick in 2006, he's moved up the minors very fast.
He hit .294 last year in AA with a .395 OBP, after starting the season
in single-A. Unless Iguchi stumbles, we probably won't be up until
after the All-Star break.
Joshua Geer (SP):
Had a 16-6 record in AA before getting promoted to ****tland and
winning his only start there. Recorded a 3.20 ERA.
Will probably be a victim of the Padres excess of good pitching, so we
won't see him before September.
With both Estes and Cameron currently in ****tland and Hampson on the
DL, I have a hard time seeing several good young pitchers moving up to
the majors any time soon.
