Padres 14, Rockies 6

Right fielder Brian Giles leads the Padres over Colorado, 14-6, going 2
for 
5 with a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning.  Third baseman
Sean 
Burroughs goes 3 for 5, with a double to lead off the game.

Padre starter Adam Eaton gives up 5 runs and fails to finish the fifth 
inning, so reliever Chris Hammond (1-0) picks up the win by pitching 
scoreless seventh and eighth innings.

The Rockies' batting star is first baseman Todd Helton, who goes 2 for 5 
with 1 run and 2 RBI.  Starting pitcher Jason Jennings (0-1) takes the
loss, 
throwing 4 innings and giving up 7 hits, 4 walks, and 6 runs.

At: Coors Field
Attendance: 20,721
