Padres 3, Braves 2

Pinch hitter Don Reynolds delivers a 2-out single in the top of the ninth
to 
drive in pinch hitter Jerry Turner and first baseman Gene Richards with
the 
tying and winning runs to lead San Diego past Atlanta, 3-2.  San Diego's 
other batting leaders are right fielder Dave Winfield (2 singles, 1 run)
and 
center fielder George Henrick (1 double, 1 RBI).

Starter Bob Owchinko lasts 7 innings, scattering 6 hits, 2 runs (neither 
earned) and 6 walks, while striking out 4.  Reliever Rollie Fingers (1-1) 
picks up the win by retiring all 6 batters he faces.

Atlanta is led by third baseman Rod Gilbreath with 2 singles and 1 run 
scored.  Pitcher Phil Niekro (0-2) pitches a complete game, giving up 2 
earned runs, 6 hits, 4 walks, and striking out 9.

At: Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium
Attendance: 2,616 (Not a typo; the night before, the Padres-Braves drew 
2,056)
