....and so does every reliever, no matter how great they are. The
Padres have had relievers like Craig Lefferts,Rollie Fingers, Gary
Lucas, Goose Gossage, Mark Davis, and Trevor Hoffman. They could have
their best stuff on a given night, with the game on the line, and the
guy at the plate could be that late inning pinch hit specialist, who
gets paid to get that clutch hit off our best guy. Has Trevor lost
something off his stuff. I dunno. Will he scare the crap outta me with
the game on line in the 9th. Hell yes. That is the way this game is.
It will always be that way. Here's to Trevor Hoffman, and all his
years in a Padre uniform.
