Padres 12, Pirates 2

San Diego's offense produces 15 hits, including 5 doubles, 1 triple, and a

home run, to trounce Pittsburgh, 12-2.  First baseman Steve Garvey leads
the 
way with 3 hits, including the home run, 2 runs, and 2 RBI.  Right fielder

Tony Gwynn has the triple, along with a single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI. 
Catcher Terry Kennedy clears the bases with a bases-loaded double in the 
bottom of the 4th inning.

Starter Andy Hawkins (6-0) is the beneficiary of the high output and
pitches 
8 innings, giving up 9 hits, 2 earned runs, 0 walks, and striking out 2. 
Luis DeLeon pitches a scoreless 9th inning to wrap up the game.
