This happens a lot at the end of a long road trip.Especially one in
which their scheduled days off were occupied by stopovers in Cleveland
to makeup games that were snowed
out/rained out.I don't think this is the whole reason, but surely it is a
factor.
I can't remember where I saw it,but I saw a diagram of the mileage the
team would experience jetting all over the country to play their
adjusted schedule. It covered over 7000 miles.Seattle being where they
are located relative to a lot of s****ts venues travels a lot more miles
dispro****tionally to other s****ts
franchises relative to each other.
Of course, the argument could be made the same way for the Angels who
are at the top of the division;but they were not behind in the schedule
of games needed to be made up either.
