He looked confused at times last night in the dugout. When ***son went
out with the thumb injury he was shown consulting the lineup card,
looking bewildered at what to do next. You could see someone next to
him and I read his lips "Put in Broussard", the plainly obvious
solution. McLaren seemed to have an "oh yeah" expression on his face.
I don't know, I just don't see him as a very good manager, but this is
just from watching him 1 game. I also didn't care for his bullpen
usage. Felix could have easily gone 1 more inning last night, but he
burns 3 guys in the 9th.
Hopefully that kind of crap does not continue. He said he was going to
be more aggressive on the basepaths and he was not last night,
especially when he really needed to be with Yuni and Ichiro at 1st and
2nd.
If the team continues to thrive with him as the captain, then they'll
retain him. If they go .500 or below the rest of the season he should
be fired and someone else needs to be brought in. Let's just pray to
God it isn't Dusty Baker.
