One of the wondrous aspects of baseball is that the field dimensions
were so elegantly defined with respect to human body capabilities. What
discontinuities there were (e.g. mound placement), were adjusted early
on. Football, as practiced in the U.S., is played on a totally
inappropriate field pro****tion, and the owners have not been willing to
fix the mistakes.
The CFL field dimensions are exactly right. The game is superior in all
respects other than that the athletes are not on the same level in
terms of drugs and payroll.
