284. Cordido, the other Grizzly with multiple hits, has had multiple
hits in four of his last seven games. After three walks in April,
Schierholtz has three walks in two games in May. Making their PCL
debuts were Denker and Buller, and Vizquel is expected to make rehab
appearances with the Grizzlies on Sunday and Monday. Berroa, who was
an everyday player in the majors a couple years ago, hit one of three
HRs for the Royals.
McNiven, who had not allowed a HR in any of his three Eastern League
starts this April, allowed 3 HRs in his PCL debut. He didn't strike
anyone out, but he did have a 10/4 GO/FO line. Foppert, Sadler and
Hinshaw threw four scoreless innings in relief, lowering their
respective ERAs to 3.07, 1.23 and 0.77.

With his second straight two-hit game, Copeland got his AVG above the
Mendoza line. He and Rosario both reached base three times to improve
their respective OBPs to .293 and .325. Maroul connected for his 1st
HR. He hit 20 HRs in the Cal League a year ago.
A fairly non-descript start for Broshuis. After a season high in
strikeouts in his previous start, even though it was his shortest
start of the year, he had just one striekout in this start. He has
been too hittable this year with 37 H and 16 K in 29.2 IP with a .306
BAA. Waddell struck out four of the seven batters he faced, but the
solo HR increased his ERA to 3.00.

With three hits, Rohlinger, Mooney and Schoop accounted for half of
the Giants' eighteen hits. They raised their respective AVGs to .
279, .500 and .240. For Mooney, it was his first game in four weeks,
after getting hurt in the second game of the year. Downs connected
for his 5th HR to lead off the 7th inning.
Alderson's sixth start was the first one in which he has been removed
the game in the middle of an inning. After starting the year with 10
H, 3 BB, 3 ER and 10 K in 16.0 IP over his first three starts, he has
18 H, 6 BB, 8 ER and 11 K in 16.2 IP over his last three starts. So
while the strikeouts and innings have remained relatively constant,
the hits, walks and runs allowed have approximately doubled. He had a
4/9 GO/FO line last night.

season's ERA to 2.52. Runzler's ERA rose to nearly 9.00.
