I recall hearing comments over the last few years from Berkman about how he
hates SF. It started out with him complaining about the ballpark but then
he felt it necessary to offer his opinions about the city itself. I was
watching the game with a group of people yesterday evening at my local
watering hole and I'm not sure but I thought I heard someone mentioning
that
Kruk and Kuip talked about Berkman and SF during their pre-game show...can
anyone here verify that? I think this person was saying that Kruk and
Kuip
mentioned that one of the reasons Berkman doesn't like SF is that there
aren't any good restaurants, and that the city was ugly or something to
that
effect. Sheesh...what a moron.
I guess he doesn't like the ballpark because it's much easier to 'dink'
315
foot homers in his own ballpark so he can pad his stats. It's amazing
that
he finds SF ugly...considering he plays in Houston and lives there: The
armpit of the Gulf Coast. You want to talk ugly..Houston is your town.
As
far as the restaurants goes, I guess Mr. Texas Good Old boy can't find
enough TGIFs and Hooters where he can wolf down his buffalo wings (which
are
essentially a vehicle to inject fat into your system just as cigarettes
are
nicotine tranfer tools), chicken fried steak, deep fried twinkies, fried
potatoe skins, etc. I guess all the freakin', damn ethnic restaurants in
SF
along with the weird 'ethnic' people are too much for Lance. One thing
though is we could send him through the Aryan tunnel (Caldecott Tunnel) so
he could go to the Contra Costa hinterlands and perhaps find a chain
restaurant of his choice so he can show down.
