Every Grizzly in the lineup had a hit. Ochoa paced the fourteen-hit
attack with three hits. Plus, he drew the team's only walk. He
improved his season line to .276/.368/.410. Schierholtz led off the
6th inning with his 4th HR. Arias, whom the Rangers acquired as the
PTBNL in the A-Rod deal, had three of the Redhawks' eleven hits to
raise his AVG to .322.
Santos allowed a season-high 5 BB and allowed more than 3 ER for just
the second time in eight starts. His ERA rose to 4.43, but that is
still lower than the ERA of the two relievers who followed him, as
Messenger and Gryboski allowed 5 ER over three innings. The Rangers'
Nippert, who spent most of last season making 36 appearances out of
the Diamonbacks bullpen, made his third start of the year after he
missed all of April.

I****kawa and EME both reached base three times, improving their
respective OBPs to .355 and .372, although both still have SLGs below .
400. Maroul led off the 6th and 9th innings with his 4th and 5th HRs,
raising his SLG to .477. He also committed his 11th error. Maroul's
first homer kicked off a six-run 6th inning. The Blue Jays' 20-year-
old Snider, who entered the season among the top fifteen prospects in
the minors, has struggled since being promoted to the upper minors.
He had shown signs of warming up recently but had his four-game
hitting streak snapped last night. He has struck out in nearly 45% of
his at bats (34 SO among 77 AB) in the Eastern League.
Broshuis picked up his third victory of the season--far different from
last year when a consistent lack of run sup****t left him with a 3-17 W-
L record for the season. Aside from an error for catcher's
interference by Witter, Pichardo pitched a perfect 7th inning. A
perfect 8th inning provided Hedrick consecutive appearances without a
walk for the first time this season.

Schoop had three of the Giants' six hits, but his OPS remains below .
600. There was nothing particularly notable about Sandoval's
offensive line, but defensively he picked off two baserunners, one at
first base and the other at second base.
In terms of runs allowed, Alderson had his best start in nearly a
month, improving his ERA to 2.89, fifth best in the league. He had an
atypical 7/3 GO/FO line to even his GO/AO ratio at 1.00. Wilding
worked a perfect 9th inning for his 6th save. It was his first
appearance with multiple strikeouts in nearly a month.

A night after having his 19-game hitting streak snapped, Bond was the
only GreenJacket to reach base twice, boosting his AVG to .378. He
accounted for two of the GreenJackets' four hits (all singles). His
SB/CS line is 5/2. The hat trick for Noonan raises his SO/AB ratio to
nearly 22%. Johnson, a first round pick by the Braves a couple years
ago, provided the game's only XBH to lead off the 8th inning and
putting himself as the potential tying run into scoring position, but
he was doubled off second base on a line drive by the next batter.
This is the scariest kind of line for a starting pitcher--a very short
but effective start in a game with no delays. Brewer left the game
after the last batter he faced singled on a line drive to him.
Joaquin entered in long relief. His K/BB ratio is now just 1.33.
Otero earned his organization-leading 9th save with a perfect 9th
inning.
