I have a blind spot on this one. I always hated him for the Safeway
crap. If I could get past my bias, I'd agree with most of what you
say, while wondering just how much of it was Magowan and how much was
a group effort. It's safe to say he takes credit for it ... heck, he
probably deserves it. I just don't trust him ... he has a sly knack
for being the public face of Save the Giants, Sign Barry, and Build a
Park. But more than one person participated in all of those things.

Besides, I hate him for Safeway :-).

Lurie saved the Giants, too. He didn't sign Barry, and he never got
the park built. So Magowan beats him.

Stoneham? I guess we could pretend he was the driving force behind
bringing the Giants to San Francisco.

I did go to grad school with Magowan's daughter, although we were far
enough apart in when we entered the program that I never actually met
her.
