<I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that the pitching of the
<1920's was superior to that of the 1960's.
Then let me be the first. And they used balls that were filthy and hard
to
see, less lively and everyone throwing trick pitches, spitballs etc. The
Babe ate fastballs for breakfast and that's mostly all you see in modern
times. He would be feasting on fastball pitchers and hitting 1,000+
homeruns for a career in the modern age. The Babe was the natural, a
great
pitcher and a freak of baseball talent that might not ever be seen again
in
the future.
