Timlin was the Jay's closer and couldn't handle the role. The Mariners
brought Timlin in as a set-up guy where he's always been more
comfortable. Ironically Slo***b was so bad Timlin got the job and
performed adequately. Cruz Jr. seemed like a 5 tool, blue chipper but
never realized his potential.
It could have been a spectacular deal for the Jays if Chris Johnson's
favourite genuis GM, JP, had taken the Mets up on their offer of David
Wright. Instead he let him go for nothing.
