But it shows we can play with the evil
empire.
Perhaps if not for that wild pitch with
g-rod at the plate who k anyway the
out come may have been different.
I sure like the more aggressive play
on the base paths,so far in the early
going.hope the trend continues because
we don't have a lot of big boppers in
line up.
Interesting tid bit on Rios watching tonights game,he now has hit safely
in 23 consecutive games with the
yanks, broke a record going back to
the 50's by Nelly Fox.
Well its now back home to take on
Boston who the team always gives
fits to,they gota be road weary by
now and without Beckett a good thing
for sure.
Was damned impressed McGowans
gutsy pitching performance especially
in the bronx zoo,he looks like he could
be a quality #1 or #2 guy on just about
any other al team at present.
I look for both Rios and Hill to have
outstanding seasons both offence
and D.
I seriously think Rios is an early
mvp candidate this season,and
I hope to hell they lock him into
a long term deal and not *****
foot around .like they did with
other guys who they released
after thier contracts had expired.
In hopes they would sign for
less money ie Delgado ,Johnson
Lilly etc etc.
I am not to thrilled about the team
fielding Stewart again he has been
injury prone forever and his less than
cannon like arm, gives hitters a chance
at extra bases and easy sac fly runs.
And i fear the big hurt is just playing
on his reputation now,he has looked
real bad at the dish all thru spring
training and at bats so far this
season.I know its early but the jays
so far are leaving way to many risp
like they did in past seasons.
(12 risp in the opener)
If his hitting trend continues he has got
to be knocked down in the order and
give perhaps Hill his spot??
His little temper tantrum tonight was
more about frustration than anything
else imho.In all the years I have watched
Thomas I never have seen him throw a
hissy fit like he did tonight?
How whay the hey its early!
Looks like it may be an interesting season
all round, keep your eye on the drays
and the royals this season. The royals
already swept the much touted and
supposed power house offence of
the tigers who only managed 3 runs
in three games against what used to
be a given by KC.Who have not swept
the tigers since God was a boy or
anybody else for that matter.
???
And the jays not only face the bo sox
and tigers, but kc and the rays in the
first month of play.April may be the
defineing trend for the teams entire
season.??600 ball is almost a must
in the first month to stay close to
the likes of the yanks and sox.
They need to win these early season
mini series and a few sweeps would
be sweet.
